We are delighted to announce that we have successfully applied to be part of the Jack Petchey award scheme. This organisation has given grants to several of our Ursuline Links Volunteers in the past but this is the first time that Ursuline Links, as an organisation, has been able to participate. We were very pleased that Jane Evans, Grants Officer for the Jack Petchey Foundation, was able to visit our volunteers while they were out on service, helping to prepare and serve meals for the homeless at the Franciscans in Killip Close in July.
We have been approved as participants for their Bronze scheme for 2015-16, which will qualify us for 3 award winners per year, nominated by their peers. Each award winner will be allocated a grant of £200 which they can spend on Ursuline Links projects, as well receiving their own Jack Petchey Certificate and Pin. Our award winner for this period is Miracle Ladejobi, past-pupil of Ursuline Academy Ilford and Brentwood Ursuline, who worked as a volunteer on our London Day Camps project in July. Miracle has nominated that the grant be spent on purchasing new games and resources for the Day Camps project for next summer.
